"A SHOOTOUT IN MUKACHEVO WAS PROVOKED BY POLICE OFFICERS" PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION

The Parliamentary Commission has concluded that the conflict in Mukachevo was largely provoked by actions of Interior Ministry and Security Service leadership in the Transcarpathian region, this was stated today, on September 18 by the head of the Temporary Commission on the incident in Mukachevo - Mykola Palamarchuk during report in the Ukrainian parliament.

"There are all reasons to believe that the armed conflict in Mukachevo was largely provoked by actions of Interior Ministry and Security Service leadership in the Transcarpathian region, as they were not only aware of the meeting between Right Sector representatives and Mr Lanio but also involved in its arrangement" - Palamarchuk says.

The commission has also criticized the actions of law enforcers in the Transkarpathian region during 2014-2015, who, according to deputies, did not initiated any actions against smuggling in the region, and even contributed to it.

"Elimination of smuggling schemes requires full and not partial change of law enforcement leadership in the Transcarpathian region" - commission's chairman stated.

According to Palamarchuk, this is the reason why the nationalist movement members are so dissatisfied with region's law enforcement, which forced them to create a group "taking over the functions of local law enforcement."

However, the commission's chairman have also made a charges towards the "Right Sector." We are not surprised by this given the fact that this Government is descendant of Yanukovych's government, which was hostile to the Ukrainian nationalist movement. But let us remind the fact that it was thanks to pressure from patriots and active public position of "Right Sector" the parliamentary commission has began to move the investigation closer toward objectivity.
