LYHOLIT'S CASE: THE SYSTEM ATTEMPTED TO GET RID OF ANOTHER PATRIOT

Recently another high-profile case against a veteran of the war in Donbass and a member of the military volunteer movement stirred the Ukrainian society. Valentin "Batya" Lyholit, a field commander of the Aidar volunteer battalion was detained by military prosecutors this Friday at the request of a former mayor of Severodonetsk city and his deputy, associated with the Kremlin-backed separatists of Donbass. It was during their rule when the city became part of the so-called "Luhansk Republic." They accused Lyholit of the fact that his troops took away their camera and other tangible assets.

According to the court decision of June 1 the Lyholit was sentenced to two months imprisonment, so the Aidar commander's lawyers filed a lawsuit in the Court of Appeal. Worth nothing, that Valentyn Lyholit is a living legend of the AIdar volunteer battalion - one of the first military formations, established by volunteers to fight the terrorists in the Donbass. His callsign "Batya" means "Dad" and it says a lot!

Shortly after the second court session had been started the Pechersk court building was blocked by representatives of Ukrainian volunteer battalions in order to prevent the arrested commander to be transfered to a pre-trial detention facility.

Some time later the activists blocked traffic on the Kreschatik street with demand to release the battalion commander from custody.

As the result being under the society's pressure  and personal intervention of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine a preventive measure against the war veteran had been changed and the legendary commander of the Aidar battalion was released from custody in the evening of June 2.

In fact, according to the Ukrainian law everyone, who have stood up for his homeland and shot, particularly, in the citizens of Ukraine (who are in fact traitors of Ukraine and members of terrorist groups) illegally, because officially there is no war in Ukraine now, only an anti-terrorist operation. This means that theoretically every participant of the war could be charged...
