WHETHER J.M. LE PEN A SAVIOR OF THE FRENCH MODERN NATIONALISM?

The outstanding French right political Jean-Marie Le Pen has definitely refused to support the National Front political party and has started to unite a nation-oriented forces around himself.

Such a radical step was preceded by a long-term confrontation between the veteran of the French nationalist movement and his daughter Marine Le Pen, under whom leadership the nationalist party has departed to far from those ideals, on which it was founded. In pursuit of glory Ms Le Pen has acquired new companions with a questionable reputation and by this she has discredited herself in front of those French, who cherish the idea of national revival of their country.

Being under the leadership of Marin Le Pen the National Front, founded by her father as a party of force, which used to defend the right political principles has become a part of modern liberal politics. Today's NF policy comes down to a cheap populism and speculation on the misfortunes of the French people. In addition, the party adheres to rethorics regarding the migrant crisis is quite soft.

So there is no wonder that J.M. Le Pen has completely despaired of the National Front perspectives. Now the right politician is working to unite the various nationalist movements to lend a truely right hand to France.

As for Ukraine, it should be noted, that there is a tendency in the Ukrainian media space to expose Marine Le Pen as a right politician. As was noted above the National Front he has ceased to be a right nationalist political force, instead it has became a part of local liberal political sysytem. However, it is quite beneficial for the enemies of the Ukrainian nationalism to replicate nonsense about M. Le Pen as a leader of the French right and a Moscowphile at the same time. Such campaign in general is aimed to create a distorted and negative image of the European nationalists in Ukrainian society.

Today's growth of of contradictions between the French right and pseudo-nationalists is an evidence that nationalism is alive not only in Eastern and Central Europe, but also in the West. Indeed, ability to cleanse itself is a sign of increasing vitality. It is clear that Jean-Marie Le Pen's efforts will not turn into a fulminant success in the electoral field. But this could become an unification factor for the opposition-minded French nationalists.
