IN MEMORY OF THE AIRPORT DONETSK DEFENDERS

January 15-22, 2015, is a time of most dramatic battles for the Airport Donetsk. In mid January we traditionally commemorate glorious Cyborgs, the airport defenders, and especially those of them, who is no longer with us. Let's recall one of them - Igor Branovitsky.

Blue jacket, black cap, frozen hands and alienated look. This is how he looked at the video the Russian terrorists made on January 21, 2015 near the ruins of the collapsed new terminal complex of Donetsk airport. All night before the encounter with the enemy, Igor treated those of his wounded comrades, who along with him found themselves prisoned under the airport terminal's ruins, gave them last cigarette to smoke, held their hands when they gave their last breath. Reassured them when they asked to shoot them, suffering from pain.

That night, after the second demolition of the terminal, nine wounded Ukrainian fighters inside remained inside. Four of them died till morning. After the blast Igor got only a shrapnel in his body armor and concussion. He had to live, but it turned out differently.

The "Sparta" terrorist group fighters were first, who found the survivors and deliver them to the occupied Donetsk by KamAZ. On his way to Donetsk Igor did not know he had only 7 hours to live. The capruerd soldiers were brought to a cellar of some building and began an interrogation. 

There Igor said that he was a machine gunner and he took up arms to defend own land. This was quite enough... he had been tortured for hours, the terrorists had beaten him by legs, armature, they orderd Igor to kneel down, and when he refused the torturers fired his legs with a traumathis pistol. 

The bullets remained in Igor's body when the family got him back at the end of March last year. Last bullet the Ukrainian soldier got from the Kremlin propaganda promoted terrorist "Motorola," who shot the half-alive Igor in head. Of course, there is no point to mention the Geneva Convention or other standards of treatment of prisoners of war. All these things determinate by a warrior's honour, and and what honour we talk about if it comes to the Kremlin hybrid forces, who are not refrain from the most sneakly methods in its hybrid wars. 

For almost a year the case of Igor Branovitsky murder has been investigated by the SBU. For almost a year Igor's mother is waiting for the punishment of her son's executioners. Despite the mass media are trying to use the fallen heroes image to recultivate a victim complex within us, the best way to commemorate such brave men as Igor is to continue their brave deed!
